Kawai-E Knights!: Chapter 1

Yes, today was a new day for Sozoteki. Today, she would finally start out as a freshman in high school.

Sozoteki soon woke up and sat up, the feelings of excitement already filling her as she saw the light of the morning sun shining through her bedroom window. As fast as she woke up, she quickly got up, got dressed, and soon she was ready for her new school life.

She went outside and stood at the bus stop, waiting for the bus to come by and pick her up...

As she waited she checked to make sure she looked okay, and that she had everything ready.

She took a deep breath. Here she was, this 15 year old short girl wearing just a simple purple colored shirt, ripped blue jeans, and her worn out sneakers she had worn last year in middle school. Her spectacles glinted in the sunlight as she took them off, making sure they were clean.

After 3 long class periods, Sozoteki’s stomach started rumbling.

After what seemed like forever, she finally arrived at the cafeteria and took her seat at an empty lunch table.

She saw that high school seemed to be very different from middle school...everyone seemed to be in certain groups 'mindlessly' gossiping with one another.

She sighed. She did expect the classes to be more difficult than last year, but she didn't expect everyone to be so different. She never knew how much a person could change in just one whole year.

Even her 'friends' from middle school didn't seem to remember her... So thus, she was eating alone.

Sozoteki felt that things weren't exactly going to be how she expected them to be...

Especially when she saw her old rival Rikoteki sitting at the table far across from hers.

She glared at her from afar, sitting with a bunch of what seemed to be the popular girls.

"...Well. It's pretty obvious that she remembers me. Faaantastic", Sozoteki thought to herself.

It’s been nearly 2 weeks since school started.

Sozoteki was not amused as she sat down for lunch once more.

This life was nothing like she expected it... she absolutely hated it.

She found it hard to speak to ANYONE without getting a pretty typical response. No one was even like her.

She also had Rikoteki to put up with too. It was amazingly frustrating.

She started to daydream to get away from this 'boring' reality. She escaped to the world she always drew when she was in her middle school art class…

She snapped out of it, thinking for a moment. She never really did develop it much, come to think of it…

Sozoteki sighed sadly. She wished she could ACTUALLY go to a world - no, a Sanctuary, like that… A place where she could be free and happy. A place where she wasn't bounded to such a boring lifestyle.

After her last period class, Sozoteki went to her lockers to put up her books for the day. She was physically and mentally drained…

However, when she opened up the locker...

She noticed there was a mysterious white hardback book on the bottom shelf, along with a note tucked inside of it. Curious, Sozoteki slipped the note out of the book, and she read it aloud.

"I heard your plea. I've been watching you recently this past year...and only now I've seen you are no ordinary girl. I sense you have a lot of hidden potential… Sozoteki.

So I want to entrust you with this special book.

This is no ordinary book, as anything you draw inside it becomes an alternate living reality. Every living being you draw actually comes to life within it.

I really do believe you have the potential to really create a special little world of your own within this book.

I'll be seeing you one day soon in the near future.

Her eyes widened at the note.

She honestly thought someone was playing some sort of joke on her...

Nevertheless, she packed the note and the book up, and took it home with her.

She wouldn’t understand how much this book would mean to her until the moment she opened it up that evening.
